Decks of the day: Burning Abyss and PK Fire

Traveling in the Burning Abyss can be dangerous when Ghost Reapers are lurking nearby
Traveling in the Burning Abyss can be dangerous when Ghost Reapers are lurking nearby

I may or may not have said that Burning Abyss aren’t good anymore. Somehow, they still are. When I was playing the deck I don’t know how I won so many games without ever summoning a monster with more than 2500 ATK. Even though Ghost Reaper exists, I guess Burning Abyss still exist. I want to look at eight Burning Abyss decks today and just look at the choices that led to top 8 finishes for all of these players. Six are Phantom Knight variants, two are not. Here we goooooo. Shining Victories set review part 5 of 5

SHVI-BoosterENWelcome back to part 5 of the SHVI set review, the final part. If you haven’t yet, you can look at parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 going over the core set. For those that don’t know, the core set is what Japan gets, the first 80 cards. They’re always the same, then we get imports and WP cards in the remaining 20 cards. Below is my rating scale for cards. Continue reading “Shining Victories set review part 5 of 5”

Shining Victories set review Part 3 of 5

SHVI-BoosterENWelcome back to the SHVI set review. Last time we followed up on the Blue-Eyes support, went over Amorphages, Digital Bugs and a few miscellaneous new cards. We’re finishing up the core set’s Effect Monsters and going over all of the Ritual, Fusion, Synchro and Xyz Monsters and starting the Spell Cards. Take a look at my rating scale if you haven’t yet. A 3.0 doesn’t mean it’s only meh. I’d give Ehther and Erebus a 3.0 and they’re the most important cards for Monarchs. So let’s get into the reviews. Shining Victories set review Part 1 of 5

SHVI-BoosterENShining Victories is just around the corner and we’ve passed the Sneak Peek here. This is going to just be in five parts, and with 100 cards, that’s 20 cards per part. I could separate it a bunch of different ways, but the cards are all numbered, SHVI-En001 up to SHVI-EN099 plus 000. When the cards are in the database I’ll link them. Also, I’ll have pictures when we get good English scans. If you have the cards, you can scan them and send the files to me at BigEye@Number11.XYZ. Don’t forget to share your HQ scans with the wikia, because they’re good people even though they’re not official.

Beatrice Turbo is a thing. So is New Zealand Nationals?…

If she is your BAEtrice, don't abuse her
If she is your BAEtrice, don’t abuse her

This is going to be a short post, but it’s already late when I’m writing this. Everyone knows that Beatrice is a good card. It’s Lavalval Chain, but better. It’s Rank 6, which is harder to summon, but it works on both players’ turns and gives you a monster when it dies. Pretty unfair. This list got Top 16 at New Zealand nats. I didn’t even know they started this early. I heard it was 89 players, but in the report, Ny3 played some good decks at least. Continue reading “Beatrice Turbo is a thing. Amorphage are cool. I hate that cool archetypes are bad.

DracoFaceOff-BOSH-EN-C-1ELuster Pendulum and Master Pendulum are the LIGHT commanders of the FIRE, WIND and WATER armies of the Igknight, Majespecter and Dinomist. That’s four of the six attributes, where are the DARK and EARTH guys at? The Dracoverlords have DARK covered and our Draconnected EARTH attribute archetype in Shining Victories (SHVI) They’re about on equal power level as Dinomist and unfortunately probably won’t see competitive play. If you don’t know what they do yet, read on and I’ll explain them. Continue reading “Amorphage are cool. I hate that cool archetypes are bad.”

Kozmo Wave 4 thoughts

In Clash of Rebellions (CORE) we (the TCG) got two new WP archetypes, Kaiju and Kozmo. Then in Dimension of Chaos (DOCS) and Breakers of Shadow (BOSH) we got two more installments. Next, in Shining Victories(SHVI) we get another installment of Kaiju and Kozmo. So far each time we’ve gotten 4 Kozmo Monsters, a Kozmo Spell/Trap, 2 Kaiju Monsters and a Kaiju Spell/Trap. Today I’m going to talk briefly about all of the new Kozmo cards. Continue reading “Kozmo Wave 4 thoughts”
