Deck of the day: Metalfoes Kozmo

KozmoDarkDestroyer-DOCS-EN-ScR-1ESomeone messaged me on Facebook asking if I could look at Kozmo Metalfoes and I’m more than happy to. If you have a request, let me know and I’ll see if I can do it. Kozmos haven’t seen much play since Dark Destroyer was limited but some people were putting Dark Ladies in pendulum decks, so why not put pendulums in your Kozmo deck? You can destroy your ships to float down and you can Pendulum Summon everything but Tincan and Dark Destroyer. Let’s get into the deck. Continue reading “Deck of the day: Metalfoes Kozmo”

Darklords (and the rest of Destiny Soldiers) suck, FYI

darklordmorningstar-deso-en-scr-1eDESO is out and we got some new Destiny HEROs, Abyss Actors and Darklords. Today is not for the former two, nor is it a set review, it’s more of a Darklord guide and different options you can take. I’m not going to definitively say anything on the deck because I strongly believe it belongs in the trash and doesn’t actually do anything relevant against the meta. With that said, the deck is still fun if you like summoning 2500-2900 ATK monsters with mostly irrelevant effects and sometimes Kristya. Deck of the day: Metalfoes Yang Zing

baxiabrightnessoftheyangzing-duea-en-scr-1eEverybody likes dragons, right? I don’t know what it is about dragons but everybody thinks they’re cool. Even my two-year-old that doesn’t know the difference between dragons and dinosaurs likes them. Unfortunately, today is not about dragons. Duelist Alliance brought us Shaddolls and Tellars, that use Fusion Summoning and Xyz Summoning, respectively. The TCG also got Burning Abyss, a second Xyz archetype but this was Rank 3 focused. Later we would get Qliphorts, a Pendulum archetype and Nekroz, a Ritual archetype. All of these decks were at least competitive. Where is the Synchro archetype? Konami messed up with Yang Zing. They’re Wyrm-Type and are the DUEA Synchro archetype. Now that they have Denglong and Metalfoes, is it time for them to compete? Let’s learn how the deck works. Continue reading “Deck of the day: Metalfoes Yang Zing”

Set review: Invasion: Vengeance part 2

inov-boosterenWelcome back to part two of the INOV set review. Part one covered all of the secret, ultra and super rares, while part two is the rares and commons. Anything without a competitive rating, I don’t expect to be competitive. If I miss or overlook anything, let me know, I can’t know everything. Cards that weren’t in Japan’s INOV will be marked with WP for World Premier, meaning they’re TCG Exclusives or OCG imports. Let’s go. Continue reading “Set review: Invasion: Vengeance part 2”

Set review: Invasion: Vengeance part 1

inov-boosterenIt’s finally time for the INOV set review. For those new here, the usual structure is fairly simple, I go over 40 cards, then the next 40, then the 20 WP cards at the end but this time I’m going to do it a little differently. I’m going to go over the eight secrets, 10 ultras and 14 supers in part one, and then in part two, the 18 rares and 46 commons. It leads to longer articles but I think that fewer parts are better. The World Premier cards (WP) are going to be marked, meaning they’re OCG imports or TCG exclusives (for now.) Cards without a competitive rating aren’t viable. Let’s go. ABC really builds itself (and is not cheap)

abcdragonbuster-sdks-en-ur-1eINOV is coming out and so is my set review for that but I want to look at a truly tuned ABC list. ABC is not super powerful, it’s just a weak Rank 4 deck with the added benefit of summoning ABC-Dragon Buster, which is a really good card, that makes the deck really good. Geargia had a stronger Rank 4 engine but couldn’t summon 3k beaters for free. Although, Geargia had Geargiagear and isn’t really a fair comparison. I miss good Geargia. But that’s irrelevant to this discussion, so let’s talk about tuning a deck list, specifically ABC. Continue reading “ABC really builds itself (and is not cheap)”

Deck of the day: Fullmetalfoes post INOV

fullmetalfoesfusion-inov-en-1e-opIf you’re playing the best deck, you have the highest chances of winning. It’s just that simple. There are other factors that play into your win percentage, like your focus, skill with the deck, skill at the game in general, and whether or not you’re confident or feel like you’re going to lose every match today. If all other factors were the same, there is still a ‘best deck,’ but I’m not sure if it’s ABC, Metalfoes or some kind of Metalfoes Majespecter build. Regardless of what is actually the best, I want to talk about Metalfoes today and what the deck is capable of doing. Continue reading “Deck of the day: Fullmetalfoes post INOV”

What should you be packing in your side deck for ABC and Metalfoes?

Everyone is on that ABC hype train, and with good reason. I don’t think it’s the deck that can do the most powerful things, but it is fairly resistant to hate, especially post INOV. What hate is there? What other decks are out there? Today let’s take a peek at what the meta is going to look like after Invasion: Vengenace drops. Continue reading “What should you be packing in your side deck for ABC and Metalfoes?”

Card of the day: Dimensional Barrier

dimensionalbarrier-inov-en-1e-opInvasion: Vengence and the new structure decks that drop today bring a lot of things to the table. The structure decks bring ABC and INOV has some notable cards. I talked about Vermillion Dragon Mech before and today it’s time for a new staple to shine. That new staple is Dimensional Barrier and it really is going to have a heavy impact on any deck that uses Rituals, Fusions, Synchro, Xyz or Pendulums to any notable degree. But what does it do? Is it actually that good? Continue reading “Card of the day: Dimensional Barrier”

Deck of the day: Dark Synchro

leveleater-sr01-en-c-1eI like decks that play themselves. Hear me out. If you have to make a ton of decisions every turn, you’ll get tired of making decisions. It’s called decision fatigue and it’s a very real thing. I like complicated decks because they let me do tons and tons of things, but simple decks are really just a breath of fresh air when they happen. Dark Synchro is really fun but is not a simple deck. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Let’s get into what the deck does. Continue reading “Deck of the day: Dark Synchro”
